I don't think Shinki was totally happy when Alice exchanged her humanity for power upon finding the grimoire... D:
The feelings I'm trying to convey here are... difficult. I think any parent wants their child to be happy with who they are. And in regards to the grimoire, I'm sure as a mother, there was a single moment where Shinki wanted Alice to be a happy, simple human.
Alice, like any small child, didn't understand concepts like "humanity" or "eternity", and was willing to take whatever means necessary to protect the most important person to her. Even if it meant "Not being herself anymore."
And so the grimoire was opened.
